Welcome and thank you for your interest in Bury.

These are exciting times for Bury. As one of the ten districts of Greater Manchester, Bury has a key role to play in supporting the conurbation’s role as the key driver in the delivery of the Northern Powerhouse and in securing the economic growth that is central to the recent Devolution Agreement for Greater Manchester.

Bury is a great place to live, work, study and visit. It has an excellent blend of both town and countryside including award winning parks and vibrant urban areas. Bury town centre, behind Manchester city centre and the Trafford Centre, is the third highest ranking retail centre within Greater Manchester. The Borough also benefits from excellent transport links and a fast and frequent Metrolink service from Bury to Manchester city centre and beyond.

Our dedicated team are now about to embark on the next phase of our ambitious programme of regeneration across the 6 townships; to create prospering communities through employment, education, health and leisure. This creative programme will set us apart and really put Bury on the map and we look forward to sharing this vision with the successful applicants who will be fundamental in delivering it.
